La dernière unité de MiG-27 à rejoindre l'Allemagne fut le 911.APIB qui se déplaça vers Brand avec ses MiG-27K en compensation du retrait des Su-24 de bombardement. Un second régiment de la 16.VA volait également sur "Flogger-J2", à savoir le 559.APIB dont un exemplaire est vu ici en approche finale à Finsterwalde.

The last MiG-27 unit to join the 16.VA was the 911.APIB, which left Lida in Belarus to join Brand in 1989 as a compensation for the withdrawal of the Su-24 bombers from Germany. The regiment was equipped with MiG-27K 'Flogger-J2', like this aircraft of the 559.APIB from Finsterwalde, the only other unit to fly that MiG-27 variant in Germany.
